directions

A couple of months ago I chanced upon meeting a lovely person who specialised in Bach Flower Remedies. Long story short we had a consultation (a contra deal for the Coil I was wearing at a party that she HAD to HAVE and took home) and she asked what I wanted to hone into.

I asked for ‘direction’, and although this applied to both personal and professional directions things have a funny way of working out.

When Steve Jobs passed on recently (whom I have to say I admired immensely) there was a spate of quotes and messages doing the rounds but I like/d this one.

It seems apt as doors close and doors open.  The biggest door opening has been the wonderful insight of my studio partner Amanda suggesting/prompting/pushing me and her into the obvious step of converting our studio at Red Point into a working shopfront.

We have people traipsing in and out of our workspace during Red Point Art Events asking if we have anything new and ‘what’s for sale?’, and we have to say it’s a workspace.

It seems the logical conclusion to utilize not only the space but our ‘free’ time (I use the word in the loosest of terms) to the benefit of our wonderful space, so we are pushing ahead, converting our studio into a wonderful shop that will open on the 10th December.

I’m not even remotely nervous about it, although that sounds pompous, as we know what we produce has appeal, its a matter of harnessing our crazy enthusiasm and outlandish ideas back into manageable concepts and viable options.

The name??
